C955 Applied Probability and Statistics sample papers, task by task

C955 turns descriptive figures, probability and inference into decisions a reader can follow. Where a version carries written work, this shelf shows what a finished statistics write-up looks like once every number is interpreted.

How this shelf works

Send the exact assignment or rubric from your course of study and a custom sample written to it lands in 24 to 48 hours, the first one free. C955 is WGU’s Applied Probability and Statistics course. It centers on reading real data with probability rules, sampling logic and inference, then stating plainly what each result means for a choice. Searches like "c955 task 2 assignment example", "C955 sample paper", and "C955 task samples" land on this page.

What C955 is really about

C955 sits in general education and carries the quantitative competencies most WGU programs expect: probability, distributions, sampling, confidence intervals and hypothesis tests, applied to data rather than practiced in isolation. In many versions the course is cleared by a proctored objective assessment, which is a supervised exam. This library does not touch exams of any kind. It covers written performance assessments only, and nothing on this shelf is built for a supervised sitting. Where a version does carry a written PA, the work is a short applied analysis: a data set or a situation supplied with the task, a method chosen and defended, and a result carried through to a recommendation.

A written PA in C955 goes to an evaluator who scores it aspect by aspect against the rubric rather than as one impression. That structure rewards a plain build: state the question, name the method, show the calculation, then say what the result means for the decision in front of you. If a single aspect is not met, the submission comes back with that aspect named and the rest left alone, and a revision is the normal next step rather than a verdict on the student. Pacing is cohort-free, so someone who already works with data can move through the term quickly, while someone meeting inference for the first time can take as long as the competency needs.

What C955’s tasks ask for

Where C955 carries a written PA, the task usually supplies the data and the situation, then asks for a defensible read of both. Expect to describe the data set with the right summary figures, justify the probability model or test you chose, run it correctly, and report the result in the terms of the problem rather than as software output. Most versions also want what the result does not license: a sample too small to generalize from, an interval wide enough to hold both a gain and a loss, a correlation with no design behind it to support cause. Rubric aspects tend to sit on those separate moves, each scored on its own.

Why C955 tasks come back for revision

The most common way a C955 submission comes back is a number reported and left there. The mean, the interval and the test statistic all appear, correctly produced, and the write-up moves on without saying what any of them means for the decision the scenario asks about. An evaluator reading aspect by aspect can mark the calculation met and the interpretation not met in the same pass, because those are separate aspects. A result of the right size still has to become a sentence someone could act on: which option the evidence favors, how strongly, and what would have to be true for that answer to flip. Figures without that sentence read as arithmetic, not analysis.

Using a C955 sample the right way

A finished sample is most useful before you write, as a shape to argue with: see where interpretation sits relative to calculation, how much room the caveats take, and how the recommendation is worded once the arithmetic is done. Then write your own submission from your own data and your own task instructions. If you want a sample built to the exact rubric and task instructions you were given, the first custom one is free and comes back in 24-48h. Nothing here is written to be handed in, and your course instructor stays the place to take questions about the competency itself.

How these samples are written

The discipline behind every task here: aspects are the outline, each gets its section, artifacts match their narratives, and OA courses get prep-note treatment instead, because the sit is always yours. Send your portal's rubric with a request and the sample matches it, revisions included.

C955 questions, answered

How do I keep the conclusion from restating the task?

Ask what changed between the first line and the last. A closing that repeats the scenario and the method has answered nothing; one that names the option the data supports, the strength of that support, and the condition that would reverse it has. That is scored as its own aspect, so a restated prompt tends to come back for revision.

Can I pick the comparison that supports the answer I expected?

Choosing data because it agrees with you is the failure that survives a clean calculation. Strength comes from the design and the sample, never from agreement, and a submission that quietly drops an inconvenient subgroup is weaker for it. Report what you excluded and why you excluded it. A result that survives a fair test is worth more than a flattering one.

I cited a published study. Is summarizing it enough?

Usually not. A summary tells the evaluator what the authors concluded, while the aspect tends to want your read of whether the design supports that conclusion, how the sample was drawn, and whether the effect reported is large enough to matter in your situation. Two sentences of that outweigh a paragraph of faithful restatement.
