Send the exact assignment or rubric from your course of study and a custom sample written to it lands in 24 to 48 hours, the first one free. D029 is WGU’s Informatics for Transforming Nursing Care course. It centers on how clinical data moves through a system, who governs it, and what a technology change does to the work at the bedside. Searches like "d029 task 2 assignment example", "D029 sample paper", and "D029 task samples" land on this page.
What D029 is really about
D029 sits at the seam between nursing and the systems that record it. The course treats informatics as more than software: data has to be captured by someone, stored somewhere under rules, turned into information that answers a question, and then acted on by a person with eight other things to do. Most tasks here start from that chain. You are asked to look at a technology, an electronic record function, a decision support alert, a telehealth service or a reporting dashboard, and evaluate what it does to care, to safety and to the people using it. Some versions add a proctored objective assessment; an OA is a supervised exam and nothing on this shelf touches exams.
The written part goes to an evaluator who works down the rubric aspect by aspect, and D029 papers usually meet the technical aspects easily and stumble on the human ones. If a submission comes back it tends to carry a single note about the aspect that was thin, which is the system working as designed rather than a setback to explain away; you write that section again and send it in. Cohort-free pacing helps here, because a returned aspect can be answered the same evening rather than waiting on anyone else. When the task and the rubric seem to describe different deliverables, your course instructor can tell you which reading the evaluator will use.
What D029’s tasks ask for
In current versions the written work has two parts. The first is a population health data paper built on a county's County Health Rankings profile: the data gathered and compared with state and national benchmarks, what the findings mean, one health factor chosen for focused attention, an action plan and a way to monitor and evaluate it. The second belongs to the clinical practice experience portfolio: an annotated bibliography of recent sources on a current or emerging technology and a summary of that technology for colleagues, covering the evidence, what it needs from information systems and how it would be introduced. Logs and recordings are completed separately.
Why D029 tasks come back for revision
An informatics paper can be entirely about technology and still say nothing an evaluator can score. The version that comes back describes a platform, praises interoperability and analytics, and never answers two questions the rubric cares about: who is allowed to see this data and under what rule, and what changes in the shift of the nurse who has to use it. No owner of the data, no consent or access model, no retention or audit trail, no account of where in the day the new step lands or what it replaces. Governance and workflow are not the compliance paragraph at the end; they are the argument. Trace one record from the moment it is captured to the decision it supports, name who touches it and under what authority, and the paper writes itself.
The D029 drawers
D029 Task 1 example
The population health data paper: county data compared with benchmarks, one health factor, an action plan and an evaluation plan. Full sample paper, annotated.
D029 Task 2 example
The technology annotated bibliography and summary: five recent sources on nurse-performed ultrasound-guided IV insertion, evaluated and synthesized. Full sample paper, annotated.

Using a D029 sample the right way
The useful thing to study in these samples is the plumbing. Watch how a single data element is followed from capture to use, how the privacy rule is named at the moment it applies rather than in a general paragraph, and how the writer describes the working day before and after the change. Then write your own evaluation of a system you actually know. If your task instructions or rubric are worded differently from the ones these answer, send them and we will produce a sample against your exact wording instead of a near miss. The first custom sample costs nothing and arrives in 24-48h.
How these samples are written
Every sample on this board is written the way the custom ones are: the rubric aspects decoded first, a subject-matched writer drafting each aspect visibly, format and originality checked before it ships. WGU revises courses and instruments; a custom request is always written to the aspects in YOUR portal, never from a stale template.
D029 questions, answered
How much detail does the data governance section actually need?
Enough to answer four questions: who owns the data, who may access it and on what authority, how long it is kept, and how misuse would be detected. Name the rule you are relying on where the paper relies on it, not in a closing paragraph about privacy in general. Two specific sentences beat a page of principle.
What does a workflow trace look like if I have never written one?
Describe the current sequence of actions in order, with who does each and roughly how long it takes, then describe the same sequence after your change. The difference is your argument. If nothing in the second list is shorter, simpler or safer than the first, the proposal is adding work, and an evaluator reading the adoption aspect will notice before you do.
How do I show that the technology change actually worked?
Pick something the system itself can report. Time to document, duplicate entries, alert override rate, share of records complete at discharge: all of them come out of the same platform you are proposing, which makes the measurement cheap and credible. Say what it reads now, what you expect after, and when you would look.
