D082 turns emotional and cultural intelligence into personal development work. The samples here build an improvement plan from a composite manager's emotional intelligence results and connect four core values to leading a culturally diverse team.

Send the exact assignment or rubric from your course of study and a custom sample written to it lands in 24 to 48 hours, the first one free. D082 is WGU’s Emotional and Cultural Intelligence course. It centers on how emotional and cultural intelligence can be assessed and improved, and how personal values shape leadership across cultures. What D082 is really about

Emotional and Cultural Intelligence covers the foundations of emotional intelligence from researchers such as Salovey, Mayer and Goleman, intrapersonal skills of self-awareness and self-management, interpersonal skills of social awareness and relationship management, personal values and cultural intelligence in global leadership.

Assessment comes through a pair of written tasks. One uses results from an emotional intelligence assessment to plan improvements in intrapersonal and interpersonal areas; the other explains the student's core values and how they relate to working across cultures. Both reward specific, honest reflection over general statements. The manager in these samples is fictional, and the emotional intelligence research is not. Research on emotional intelligence suggests these skills can be developed with practice and feedback, which is why the tasks ask for specific techniques rather than general intentions. A plan such as pausing before replying to critical emails, or asking a colleague for feedback after meetings, is easier to evaluate and more likely to change behavior.

What D082’s tasks ask for

D082's two tasks generally have you present emotional intelligence results and explain two ways to improve intrapersonal areas and two communication techniques for interpersonal areas using research, then explain your top core values and how they relate to cultural intelligence and leadership.

Why D082 tasks come back for revision

Tasks are often returned when improvements are vague, when research is not applied, or when values are listed without explaining why they matter and how they show up in behavior.
