D347 Advanced Psychiatric Mental Health Care of Children and Adolescents Across Care Settings sample papers, task by task

D347 asks for psychiatric care written at the right developmental age, with the family and the school inside the plan rather than around it. The shelf holds sample performance assessment papers built on composite young people.

How this shelf works

Send the exact assignment or rubric from your course of study and a custom sample written to it lands in 24 to 48 hours, the first one free. D347 is WGU’s Advanced Psychiatric Mental Health Care of Children and Adolescents Across Care Settings course. It centers on psychiatric care for children and adolescents where developmental stage, caregivers and school setting shape every part of the assessment and the plan. Searches like "d347 task 2 assignment example", "D347 sample paper", and "D347 task samples" land on this page.

What D347 is really about

D347 works across a wide age span, and the span is the difficulty. The same underlying condition looks different at six, at eleven and at sixteen, presents through behavior and school function as often as through anything a young person says about mood, and reaches you filtered through caregivers who have their own account of it. Consent and assent, safeguarding duties, family systems, screening built for age and the handover to adult services all belong to the competency. Cohort-free pacing means the task waits for you, but this is a course where reading fast and writing quickly tends to produce a paper that could have been about an adult.

The written work goes in as a performance assessment and comes back scored against the rubric one aspect at a time. Nothing about a return is a verdict; an unmet aspect names itself, you rewrite that part, and the submission goes again, which is simply how a competency-based term moves. Two things are worth settling before you start. Your course instructor can tell you which aspect a confusing instruction belongs to, and every young person you write about must be composed, with no detail carried across from a real family. Age, school, diagnosis and circumstance in a case can identify a child quickly, so de-identification here is stricter than anywhere else in the program.

What D347’s tasks ask for

In most versions the task holds two halves. The first is a developmentally framed assessment of a composite child or adolescent: what is expected at that age, what departs from it, how the presentation shows up at home, at school and in the clinic, what the caregivers report and where their account and the young person's diverge. The second is the plan, built with the family rather than delivered to it, naming who does what, how school is brought in, what consent and assent look like at that age, and how progress is measured over a stated interval. Safeguarding usually has its own aspect. So does the handover, whether that is to another setting or into adult services.

Why D347 tasks come back for revision

The paper that fails here is usually a good adult paper with a child's age typed at the top. The criteria are applied exactly as they would be for a grown patient, the plan speaks to a young person as though they were the one making decisions, and the caregivers appear only as informants. Nothing says how the presentation is expected to look at that age, whether the behavior is a departure from a normal stage or a version of it, what the school day shows that a clinic room cannot, or who holds consent. Evaluators score the developmental aspect on evidence that the age changed your reasoning, not on a sentence noting the age. Anchor every judgment to the stage, and say plainly where an adult pattern does not transfer.

Using a D347 sample the right way

Read a sample here for how age is carried through a whole paper. See the expected stage established early so every later judgment has something to sit against, the caregiver account weighed rather than repeated, the school written in as a source and a partner, and the plan addressed to a family instead of an individual. Then write your own composite young person from scratch, keeping every identifying trace out of it. If your task instructions and rubric ask for a different shape, send them across and a sample will be written to match. The first is free and comes back within 24-48h.

How these samples are written

Method, in one line: aspects first, structure from the aspects, artifacts consistent, format exact. Both C-code and D-code spellings resolve here because students search both. Your free request is drafted against what your degree plan actually shows.

D347 questions, answered

What actually counts as developmentally grounded reasoning?

Two moves make it visible. Before you interpret anything, state what is typical for that age in the domain you are looking at, then show the case against that baseline rather than against an adult norm. After that, say what the stage changes about the plan: who consents, who is present, how long a session runs, what school contributes.

The caregivers disagree with each other about what is happening. What do I do with that in writing?

Treat the disagreement as data and carry it into the formulation. Record both accounts, say which parts are observation and which are interpretation, note what the difference tells you about the household the plan has to work in, and build the plan so it does not depend on agreement you do not have.

Can I use the same criteria walkthrough I learned on adult cases?

The structure transfers, the content does not. Work the criteria one at a time as usual, but state how each feature presents at this age, how long it has been present relative to what is expected in development, and what impairment looks like at school and at home. Exclusions matter more here, since normal variation is a live alternative.
